Summary

CVE-2024-0255 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP Recipe Maker plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 9.1.0, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'wprm-recipe-text-share' shortcode. As a consequence, authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above can inject arbitrary web scripts, which will then execute whenever a user accesses an affected page. This vulnerability poses a potential threat to data confidentiality and integrity. Upgrading to the latest version of WP Recipe Maker is recommended to mitigate this risk.
