Summary

CVE-2023-7244 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Industrial Control Systems Network Protocol Parsers (ICSNPP) Ethercat Zeek Plugin. Versions d78dda6 and prior are found to be susceptible to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in their primary analysis function for Ethercat communication packets. An attacker can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary code, posing a significant risk to industrial systems utilizing the affected plugin.
