Summary

CVE-2023-7238 is a new cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that affects the Osimis WebViewer. Hackers can exploit this flaw by uploading a specially crafted DICOM study. When a user attempts to view the infected study within the WebViewer, the XSS vulnerability is triggered, enabling the attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the victim's browser. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or other malicious activities. Users are advised to update their WebViewer software to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
