Summary

CVE-2023-7027 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the POST SMTP Mailer plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 2.8.7 are susceptible to this issue. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the handling of the 'device' header. An attacker can exploit this weakness by injecting malicious web scripts, which will be executed whenever an unsuspecting user accesses a manipulated page. Unauthenticated attackers can leverage this vulnerability to gain control over users' web sessions, potentially leading to data theft or unauthorized actions.
