Summary

CVE-2023-6970 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP Recipe Maker plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 9.1.0, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin's processing of the 'Referer' header. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this flaw by injecting arbitrary web scripts, making it possible for them to trick users into performing actions such as clicking on malicious links. This can lead to the execution of malicious code on the affected website.
