Summary

CVE-2023-6884 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting a WordPress plugin. The flaw exists in the plugin's shortcode, specifically the 'place_id' attribute, which lacks proper input sanitization and output escaping. This defect enables attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious web scripts that are executed whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability is present in all plugin versions up to and including 3.1, posing a significant risk to WordPress sites using the outdated plugin.
