Summary

CVE-2023-6846 is a vulnerability affecting the File Manager Pro plugin for WordPress. This issue permits authenticated attackers, including those with subscriber access or higher, to upload arbitrary files via the mk_check_filemanager_php_syntax AJAX function. By successfully exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can execute code on the server, posing a significant security risk. However, version 8.3.5 of the plugin includes a capability check that prevents users with lower privileges than admin from executing this function, mitigating the risk for those who have updated their plugin.
