Summary

CVE-2023-6816 is a vulnerability affecting the X.Org server. The issue lies in the handling of DeviceFocusEvent and XIQueryPointer reply. Buttons can be arbitrarily mapped to values greater than the server's allocated space, resulting in a heap overflow. This can potentially lead to memory corruption and unintended system behavior.
