Summary

CVE-2023-6744 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Divi theme for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 4.23.1, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts into the 'et_pb_text' shortcode's custom field data. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping processes enable the attacker's code to be stored and executed when a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability could lead to serious security consequences, including data theft, unauthorized account access, or website defacement. Users are strongly recommended to update to the latest version of the Divi theme to mitigate this risk.
