Summary

CVE-2023-6687 is a vulnerability affecting Elastic Agent. When Elastic Agent fails to ingest an event into Elasticsearch with any 4xx HTTP status code except 409 or 429, it logs the raw event at the WARN or ERROR level, potentially exposing sensitive or private information. Elastic has resolved this issue by restricting such logs to the DEBUG level in versions 8.11.3 and 7.17.16, with the default logging level being below DEBUG. This vulnerability could lead to unintended disclosure of sensitive information if not addressed promptly.
