Summary

CVE-2023-6630 is a vulnerability affecting the Contact Form 7 – Dynamic Text Extension plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers, including contributors and higher-level users, to access arbitrary metadata of any post type via the CF7_get_custom_field and CF7_get_current_user shortcodes. The root cause stems from missing validation on a user-controlled key, making it possible for attackers to reference posts by ID and metadata by key. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can lead to unauthorized data access within WordPress installations using the affected plugin version 4.1.0 and below.
