Summary

CVE-2023-6555 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Email Subscription Popup plugin for WordPress before version 1.2.20. This issue arises due to the plugin's failure to sanitize and escape a user input parameter before rendering it on a webpage. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts into the parameter, which is then reflected back to the user in the page source, potentially allowing unauthorized access or data exfiltration for high privilege users like admins.
