Summary

CVE-2023-6337 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise versions 1.12.0 and later. The issue arises when handling large HTTP requests from clients, which causes HashiCorp Vault to attempt to map the request to memory. This results in memory exhaustion on the host, potentially causing Vault to crash. The vulnerability can impact both unauthenticated and authenticated requests, making it a significant concern for security. The issue has been resolved in Vault versions 1.15.4, 1.14.8, and 1.13.12.
