Summary

CVE-2023-5895 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the DOM component of the pkp-lib GitHub repository, version prior to 3.3.0-16. Attackers can exploit this issue by injecting malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users, potentially stealing sensitive information or taking control of their sessions. The vulnerability occurs due to insufficient input validation and sanitization during the rendering of user-supplied data. Users of pkp-lib are advised to update to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
