Summary

CVE-2023-5894 is a newly discovered Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This issue affected the open-source publishing software, pkp/ojs, in versions prior to 3.3.0-16, which is hosted on GitHub. An attacker could exploit this stored XSS vulnerability by injecting malicious scripts into specially crafted inputs within the application. Successful exploitation could lead to the unintended execution of malicious scripts in a user's browser, potentially resulting in session hijacking, data theft, or other unauthorized actions. Users are strongly advised to update their pkp/ojs installations to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
