Summary

CVE-2023-5869 is a critical vulnerability affecting PostgreSQL databases. Authenticated database users can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code through missing overflow checks during SQL array value modification. The flaw arises from an integer overflow during array modification, which can be triggered by a remote user with specially crafted data. This vulnerability enables attackers to write arbitrary bytes to memory and read extensively from the server's memory, potentially leading to significant security risks.
