Summary

CVE-2023-5859 is a newly identified vulnerability in Google Chrome's Picture in Picture feature, specifically in its security UI, prior to version 119.0.6045.105. This issue allows a remote attacker to carry out domain spoofing attacks using a specially crafted local HTML page. The impact of this vulnerability is considered low by Chromium security standards. Essentially, the flawed security UI in the Picture in Picture mode creates an avenue for attackers to deceive users into believing they are interacting with a legitimate domain, putting them at risk of potential phishing scams or other malicious activities.
