Summary

CVE-2023-5845 is a vulnerability affecting the Simple Social Media Share Buttons WordPress plugin. Prior to version 5.1.1, this plugin inadvertently shares password-protected post content with unauthenticated visitors. The issue arises due to the plugin's handling of meta tags, which inappropriately expose the password-protected content. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as unauthorized individuals can gain access to otherwise secure content. To mitigate this threat, WordPress users are advised to update the plugin to its latest version as soon as possible.
