Summary

CVE-2023-5718 is a vulnerability affecting the Vue.js Devtools extension. This issue allows malicious web pages to illicitly obtain screenshot data from sensitive resources via the `postMessage()` API. By creating a malicious iFrame and registering a listener on the page, the extension inadvertently sends base64 encoded screenshots of the targeted resources back to the attacker. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to local files and sensitive websites, as their screenshot data can be leaked without authorization.
