Summary

CVE-2023-5709 is a vulnerability affecting the WD WidgetTwitter plugin for WordPress. This issue permits authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject SQL queries through the plugin's shortcode in versions up to 1.0.9. Insufficient escaping of user-supplied data and a lack of query preparation lead to this vulnerability. Attackers can exploit this flaw to append additional SQL queries to existing ones, ultimately extracting sensitive information from the database.
