Summary
CVE-2023-5705 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the VK Filter Search plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 2.3.1, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level or higher permissions to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'vk_filter_search' shortcode. Successful exploitation enables injected scripts to execute whenever a user accesses an affected page, posing a significant security risk.
