Summary

CVE-2023-5664 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Garden Gnome Package plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the 'ggpkg' shortcode, which fails to properly sanitize and escape user-supplied attributes. This weakness allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious web scripts, which execute whenever a user accesses an infected page. Version 2.2.7 partially addressed this problem, while a complete fix is available in version 2.2.9.
