Summary

CVE-2023-5605 is a vulnerability affecting the URL Shortify WordPress plugin before version 1.7.9.1. This issue allows high privilege users, including admins, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. The plugin fails to sanitize and escape certain settings, making it possible for attackers to inject malicious code even when the unfiltered_html capability is disabled, especially in multisite setups. Successful exploitation could lead to unintended website functionality and potential data breaches. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
