Summary

CVE-2023-5458 is a vulnerability affecting the CITS Support plugin for WordPress before version 3.0. This issue permits users with a minimal Author role to upload malicious SVG files, which are not sanitized upon upload. Malicious SVG files may contain Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) payloads that can execute unwanted code in the web browser of unsuspecting users who view the affected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it can be exploited to steal sensitive data or gain unauthorized access to WordPress sites. Users are strongly advised to update the plugin to its latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this threat.
