Summary

CVE-2023-5439 is a vulnerability affecting the Wp Photo Text Slider plugin for WordPress. This issue permits authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to execute SQL Injections. The root cause stems from insufficient escaping of user-supplied parameters and inadequate preparation of SQL queries within the plugin's shortcode, allowing attackers to inject additional SQL queries into existing ones. The consequences can include the extraction of sensitive information from the affected database. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
