Summary

CVE-2023-5430 is a vulnerability affecting the Jquery news ticker plugin for WordPress. The issue arises from insufficient escaping on user-supplied parameters and the lack of preparation of existing SQL queries within the plugin's shortcode. This deficiency allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level or higher permissions to inject additional SQL queries into existing ones. Consequently, sensitive information from the WordPress database can be extracted.
