Summary

CVE-2023-5425 is a vulnerability affecting the Post Meta Data Manager plugin for WordPress. It allows authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level permissions and above, to bypass capability checks on the pmdm_wp_change_user_meta and pmdm_wp_change_post_meta functions, present in versions up to 1.2.0. As a result, an attacker can manipulate data, potentially gaining elevated privileges, such as administrator access. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to WordPress sites using the Post Meta Data Manager plugin and requires immediate attention and patching to mitigate it.
