Summary

CVE-2023-5362 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Carousel, Recent Post Slider and Banner Slider plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 2.0, occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'spice_post_slider' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
