Summary

CVE-2023-52288 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the flaskcode package up to version 0.0.8 used in Python applications. This issue involves an unauthenticated directory traversal, which can be exploited through a maliciously crafted GET request to a /resource-data/<file_path>.txt URI in views.py. Attackers can leverage this vulnerability to read arbitrary files on the affected system, posing a significant risk to data confidentiality. Unpatched systems are at risk of being compromised. Users are strongly advised to update their flaskcode packages to the latest version to mitigate this issue.
