Summary

CVE-2023-5228 is a vulnerability affecting the User Registration plugin for WordPress before version 3.0.4.2. This issue allows high-privilege users, including admin, to execute Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. The plugin fails to sanitize and escape certain settings, making it possible to inject malicious code even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed, particularly in multisite setups. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, and other malicious activities.
