Summary

CVE-2023-51740 is a vulnerability affecting Skyworth Router CM5100 versions 4.1.1.24. The issue arises due to the transmission of authentication credentials in plaintext over the network. This vulnerability puts users at risk as a remote attacker can exploit it by intercepting network traffic and extracting the username and password from the router's login page. The lack of encryption makes it easier for attackers to gain unauthorized access to the targeted system. Users are advised to update their routers to the latest version or implement additional security measures to protect their networks.
