Summary

CVE-2023-51702 is a vulnerability affecting Airflow versions between 5.2.0 and 7.0.0. In deferrable mode, the Airflow worker sends the Kubernetes configuration file for authentication as an unencrypted dictionary in metadata. With older versions (between 2.3.0 and 2.6.0), this configuration dictionary is also logged as plain text in the triggerer service. An attacker can access this information and use it to gain unauthorized access to the Kubernetes cluster. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade to version 7.0.0, which no longer sends the configuration file contents but only the file path.
