Summary

CVE-2023-51698 is a critical command injection vulnerability affecting Atril, a multi-page document viewer. By exploiting this weakness, an attacker can gain immediate access to a target system when a user opens a specially crafted CBT document, which is a TAR archive. This type of document can be delivered through a malicious link or URL.
