Summary

CVE-2023-5122 is a vulnerability affecting the CSV datasource plugin in Grafana, an open-source platform for monitoring and observability. If the plugin is misconfigured to send requests to a bare host without a specified path (e.g., <https://www.example.com/> or <https://www.example.com/>), unauthorized users can trigger requests to unintended endpoints, leading to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks. The attacker could potentially gain unauthorized access to internal systems or steal sensitive data. The vulnerability has been assessed with a CVSS v3 base score of 5.3 (Medium Severity).
