Summary

CVE-2023-5120 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WPvivid plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 0.9.89. Authenticated attackers with administrative privileges can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious scripts into image file paths. The insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin allow the injected scripts to execute whenever a user accesses an affected page. This vulnerability poses a significant security risk and should be addressed promptly by updating to a patched version of the plugin.
