Summary

CVE-2023-51072 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the NOC component of Nagios XI. This issue, present in versions up to and including 2024R1, allows low-privileged users to upload malicious HTML or JavaScript code via the audio file upload functionality in the Operation Center section. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript code on behalf of other users, including administrators, leading to potential unauthorized access and data theft. Users are advised to update their Nagios XI installations to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
