Summary

CVE-2023-50572 is a vulnerability affecting the component GroovyEngine.execute in jline-groovy version 3.24.1. An attacker can exploit this issue by triggering an Out-of-Memory (OOM) error. The vulnerability arises due to a processing flaw that fails to manage memory effectively during the execution of certain maliciously crafted input. Successful exploitation may lead to a denial-of-service condition or potentially more severe consequences, such as remote code execution. It is recommended that users of jline-groovy v3.24.1 upgrade to a patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
