Summary

CVE-2023-50559 is a newly discovered vulnerability in XiangShan v2.1. This issue permits local attackers to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data through the L1D cache. The L1D cache is a critical component of the CPU that stores recently used data for quick access. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker can bypass standard security controls and retrieve confidential information. The full impact of this vulnerability is still under investigation. It is recommended that users of XiangShan v2.1 update to the latest version or apply the appropriate patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
