Summary

CVE-2023-50264 is a vulnerability affecting Bazarr, a subtitle manager, prior to version 1.3.1. The flaw involves an arbitrary file read issue in the /system/backup/download/ endpoint of the application. In the bazarr/app/ui.py file, a user-controlled filename variable is not validated before being used in the send_file function, allowing an attacker to read arbitrary files on the system. This vulnerability is now mitigated in version 1.3.1.
