Summary
CVE-2023-50245 is a memory overflow vulnerability affecting OpenEXR-viewer, a software tool used for viewing OpenEXR files with detailed metadata. Versions of this software prior to 0.6.1 are impacted, leaving them open to exploitation. An attacker could potentially manipulate files to trigger the memory overflow, leading to denial-of-service or code injection attacks. The vulnerability is resolved in version 0.6.1, which users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to for enhanced security.
