Summary

CVE-2023-49967 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Typecho content management system version 1.2.1. This issue can be exploited through an XML Quadratic Blowup attack, specifically targeting the /index.php/action/xmlrpc component. When a user sends maliciously crafted XML data, the system's parsing process enters an infinite loop, leading to a denial-of-service condition. The attack may also consume significant system resources, potentially causing further performance issues or even a crash. System administrators are strongly advised to upgrade to a patched version of Typecho as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
