Summary

CVE-2023-49926 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the MISP (Malware Information Sharing Platform) before version 2.4.179. The issue lies in the app/Lib/Tools/EventTimelineTool.php file, which contains an XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) vulnerability in the event timeline widget. An attacker can inject malicious scripts into the widget, leading to unintended execution in a user's browser when they view the affected event timeline. This issue may result in data theft, session hijacking, or other unwanted actions. Users are advised to update their MISP installation to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
