Summary
CVE-2023-49836 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Brontobytes Cookie Bar from versions n/a through 2.0. This issue arises due to improper neutralization of user input during web page generation. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious scripts into the Cookie Bar, which can then be executed in the context of the affected website, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft. Users are strongly advised to update their Cookie Bar to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
