Summary

CVE-2023-49802 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the LinkedCustomFields plugin of MantisBT, a bug tracking system, prior to version 2.0.1. Maliciously crafted custom fields, when linked via the plugin and displayed while reporting a new issue or editing an existing one, can trigger JavaScript execution. This issue allows attackers to inject and execute malicious scripts in users' browsers, potentially leading to information disclosure or unauthorized account access. The vulnerability is resolved in version 2.0.1, and users can employ MantisBT's default Content Security Policy as a workaround to mitigate the risk.
