Summary

CVE-2023-49692: A critical vulnerability has been discovered in various RUGGEDCOM and SCALANCE routers, including but not limited to RM1224 LTE, M804PB, M812-1 ADSL-Router, M816-1 ADSL-Router, M826-2 SHDSL-Router, M874-2, M874-3, M876-3, M876-4, MUM853-1, MUM856-1, M876-4 (EU), M876-4 (NAM), and S615 LAN-Router. The issue involves an improper neutralization of special elements in OS commands during the parsing of IPSEC configurations. Malicious local administrators can exploit this vulnerability to execute system-level commands upon establishing a new connection. All affected routers with versions below V7.2.2 are at risk.
