Summary

CVE-2023-49568 is a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability affecting go-git versions prior to v5.11. This issue enables attackers to trigger resource exhaustion in go-git clients by delivering crafted responses from a Git server. Notably, applications relying solely on go-git's in-memory filesystem are not vulnerable. This is an implementation issue specific to go-git and does not impact the upstream git cli.
