Summary

CVE-2023-4944 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Awesome Weather Widget plugin for WordPress. The issue, present in versions up to 3.0.2, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'awesome-weather' shortcode. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. Execution of these scripts occurs whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
