Summary

CVE-2023-49391 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the free5GC version 3.3.0. This issue permits remote attackers to execute arbitrary code and trigger a denial of service (DoS) on the AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function) component. The vulnerability is exploited through maliciously crafted NGAP (Network Exposure Function) messages. Successful exploitation grants attackers control over the AMF, potentially leading to serious security implications and network disruptions. It is imperative that affected organizations apply the necessary patches to mitigate this risk.
