Summary

CVE-2023-49292 is a vulnerability affecting the ecies library in Golang, which implements the Elliptic Curve Integrated Encryption Scheme for secp256k1. An attacker who manages to call the functions Encapsulate(), Decapsulate(), and ECDH() can recover any interacting private key. This issue was addressed in version 2.0.8 and users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to mitigate the risk.
