Summary

CVE-2023-49285 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting Squid, a popular caching proxy for the Web. The issue involves a Buffer Overread bug in Squid's HTTP Message processing, making it susceptible to Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. As a result, unpatched Squid versions are at risk of being overwhelmed and rendered unavailable. Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Squid version 6.5 to mitigate this vulnerability. No known workarounds are available at present.
